Seek God

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (Psalm 105:4, esv).
You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.” (Psalm 27:8, esv).
Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah (Psalm 24:3–6, esv).

Heavenly Father, you’ve made it so simple, we’ve made it so complicated. You’ve made it so clear to us; Seek me, seek my strength, seek my presence continually! Lord, you’ve said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face Lord, do I seek.” It means to be face-to-face with you Lord, in intimate relationship with you, in communion with you. That is what I seek Lord, that is what I truly need.

In the midst of so many things whirling, so many things unknown, so many things to do, what I need is you Lord. I need to be face-to-face with you. Not to ignore all that’s going on, but to have your perspective on it. To have your view, your leading, and your peace, in the midst of it all.

Lord I am in this world, but not of it. I live in the temporal, but the eternal drives me. Help me to walk in this temporal world, being in your presence. Standing in your presence, worshipping at your throne, with clean hands and a pure heart. Search my heart Lord and reveal it to me, convict and correct it Lord. Keep my heart purely devoted to you, that I would receive the blessing of your presence and be able to rest in your righteousness.

I choose to be part of the eternal generation who seeks your face Lord. You are my God, and I will seek you, early in the morning and throughout the day I will seek you. I will rest in your presence, and trust your direction. I love you Lord. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
